Several found living in shell gravel in 10-15m off Dunstaffnage in 1992 (Killeen & Smith, 1992). A dead shell found in Clachan Sound in 1985 (Smith & Nunn, 1985). Recorded by Jeffreys (1866) from Skye and by Marshall (1899a, 1917a) from several localities. Found by most workers in shell sand off Lamlash and also found at Rathlin (Chaster, 1897c).
