Recorded living in silt or muddy gravel, rare and at several localities in the Firth of Lorn, 1992 and 1994. Living in the Clyde off Fairlie (Allen, 1962) and off the south end of Arran, probably common in the Clyde. Also off Rathlin Island (Ulster Museum). The record from Little Loch Broom (Gubbay & Nunn, 1989) is in error. Feeds on polychaetes. Dead shells widespread. Many old records from the Clyde, few elsewhere. |
