A species of 'Adalaria' has been recorded as this from low water at Ballachulish in 1981 (Smith, 1981c) and sublittorally to 30m in the Sound of Mull, Loch Linnhe and the Firth of Lorn in 1979 (Brown & Smith 1979). This appears to be neither A. loveni nor A. proxima (E Platts, pers. comm.). There is an old record of 'Adalaria loveni' from Loch Striven, 74-70m (Murray's Medusa dredgings in Allen, 1962). All records of Adalaria loveni s.s. from Britain are now considered doubtful, it being a Scandinavian species.
