Small specimens common living in intertidal hard grey mud in Loch Creran in 1997. This location is seldom exposed, usually covered by sand and/or boulders with weed. Living in peat, mid tide level, in Lough Swilly in 1976. This habitat was found to have been completely washed away in 1986 (Nunn & Smith, 1987). Dead shells rare except on Irish coasts.
