Found on stones at low water, Cumbrae (Chumley, 1918). The inference is that these specimens were found alive, but since the accepted northern limit for this species is southwest England, this is either a very rare occurrence or an error of identification, probably for dark-coloured Nassarius incrassatus or for Raphitoma spp. Allen (1962) reported five specimens in the Robertson collection and considered the record doubtful. |
