Common, living in crevices and under boulders on rocky shores usually near the zone of Pelvetia canaliculata, also on algae at all shore levels and into the shallow sublittoral. Prefers calcic conditions which not only include natural rock but also old mortar such as on piers. Detritus feeder. Dead shells widespread. Many old records. |
