Living on a Modiolus modiolus bed in 120m in the Firth of Lorn in 1982 (R Harvey) and in 170m, 55°48'N 07°56'W in 1964 (D W McKay) and from Loch Fyne (Davies, 1989b). Also recorded from several stations on the slope west of the Hebrides Terrace. It goes down to below 2250m. Probably common in deep water on sand and stones. Carnivorous. Dead shells rare. Marshall (1911c) recorded a young specimen living in 144m from the Minch. |
