Sporadic, locally common, living amongst algae at low water and shell gravel to 15m. Records of weed washings show that it is becoming commoner. Dead shells are rare but widespread in shell sand on the strandline and offshore. Recorded by Jeffreys (1865), Chaster (1894), Marshall (1897a) and others. |
