Rare, recorded living in Loch Roag in 1982 (Dipper, 1983), St Kilda (Howson & Picton, 1985), Loch Carron in 1985 (Smith, 1985c), off Kerrera in 1979 (Brown & Smith, 1979) and off Portrush (Erwin et al., 1986). Feeds on Sertularia operculata.
