Common, living in gravel and amongst the roots of algae from low water to at least 50m. Dead shells found on the Hebrides Terrace to 400m, and there is also an unconfirmed live record from this depth (SAMS). Feeds on micro-organisms and detritus. Dead shells widespread. Many old records. |
