Living on muddy gravel, shallow sublittoral, Mulroy Bay, 1984 (B E Picton), in 1992 and 1995 (Nunn, 1996). Also living in Lough Swilly (Nunn & Smith, 1987). At the northern limit of its range. Feeds on filamentous algae.
