Several specimens found stranded at Valtos, Lewis in 1981 (Smith, 1983b; N Buxton, pers. comm.). Also on Colonsay in 1992 (Street, 1993). Previous strandings have been records from Orbost, Skye, in 1923 (Beatson et al., 1936) and Islay in 1883 (Marshall, 1900b). Irish records are more numerous. Found living at Tra na Rossan, Donegal in 1992 (McGrath et. al., 1994).
