NO MAP

Recorded living at several localities in Loch Linnhe (Pearson, 1970) and in the Clyde (Allen, 1962) whose records are possibly the basis for Fretter & Graham (1977, 1988) to have considered it to extend this far north. The species has seldom been found north of the English Channel. It is more than probable that the Scottish records are misidentifications of juvenile Calliostoma zizyphinum, especially as its chief food Zostera marina does not occur in the habitats where it is reputed to have been found.
