Common, living near low water mark on rocky shores, usually under boulders encrusted with its food, compound ascidians and bryozoans. Also on algae such as Fucus serratus which bears Alcyonidium spp. May have been overlooked or confused with Lamellaria perspicua, from which it may be distinguished in life as no distinct pimply spire is to be felt through the mantle. Owing to the fragility of the shell, dead shells are rare in shell sand. |
