This subspecies or ecotype, differs in appearance from the above in being higher spired, biochemically distinct from Littorina fabalis (J Moyse, pers. comm.). It is common, living on permanently submerged algae (Fucus serratus and Fucus vesiculosus) in brackish lagoons. Referred to as Littorina beeensis, but not described (Smith, 1978a). |
