We follow Wilson et al. (1999) rather than Reid (1996) in considering this to be a full subspecies - WoRMS synonymises this subspecies with L. saxatilis. A lagoon form, found living permanently submerged in sheltered and/or brackish waters on various algae. Abundant where found, and apparently separate from adjacent populations of Littorina saxatilis s.s. living on hard substrates bordering the same waters. |
