Common, living inshore and offshore in muddy gravel and sand, found further offshore and into deeper water than Euspira pulchella and Lunatia catena. Living in several localities on the shelf edge from 400m to below 1000m. Feeds on tellins and other bivalves in the deeper waters. Dead shells widespread. Old records are mostly from the Clyde. |
