Widespread, local, living in shell gravel, maerl and muddy gravel from low water to moderate depths. Dead shells frequent. Many old records. Very variable in form and many specimens rather large and tall for the species. Thus unconfirmed records of Mangelia attenuata, M. costulata and Bela nebula are suspect. |
