One living specimen cast-up on Colonsay in 1993. Living amongst weed, stones and gravel in 8m off Lismore in 1994. Dredged alive from off Lochinver in 50m (Marshall, 1896b) and recorded by him from off Barra. Dead shells common but often worn; they last for a long time in shell sand (Irish specimens on the whole less worn). Old records from the Clyde
