Living in muddy gravel in 12m off the Summer Isles in 1980 (P G Oliver). Parasitic on holothurians especially Mesothuria intestinalis. Living amongst muddy gravel with mixed fauna, especially Ophiothrix fragilis, 20-40m in the Sound of Mull in 1994 and 2003, also common living in silt with Turritella communis in the Lynn of Lorn in 24m in 1994. One living on the Hebrides Terrace in 700m in 1973. It has been commonly found below 1000m outside our area. Occasional dead shells. A worn shell, possibly this species, found at Magilligan Point in 1986 (Nunn & Smith, 1987). Also amongst a mixed sample from Gairloch and Eigg, 1885 (Somerville) and from Arran (Marshall).
