Possibly widespread and fairly common, living in muddy gravel below 30m. Unconfirmed records, living from several stations on the Hebrides Terrace and Slope in 400m-1300m. Specimens extant are in poor condition and can only be identified as Mendicula sp. Dead shells occasionally found on the strandline. Many old records. It is possible that some records may be errors for Mendicula pygmaea or another species.
