Common, probably under-recorded as difficult to distinguish from small Modiolus modiolus. Found living in crevices and under boulders especially in slightly muddy conditions at low water, also in shallow water inshore in gravel and maerl beds. Dead shells common in shell gravel inshore and offshore. Many old records. |
