Figured: S M Smith
Length: 50 mm

Juvenile shells recorded living in 50m off Oban by Gardiner (1952) (no date given). It would appear that these were not recently procured specimens but are those in the Marshall collection which correspond exactly to the reference (specimens also checked by J Chatfield). Sparse records of dead shells off the Hebrides and Skye (Jeffreys, 1866). Also old records from the Clyde, in sandy mud, 40-110m, Dunoon Basin and off the Mull of Kintyre. One juvenile (live-taken, not well localised) in the older collections of the National Museums of Scotland.
Collections: NMSZ, NMW
