Figured: S M Smith
Length: 110 mm

First detected in Loch Etive in 2004. It appears initially to have been a relict population as the result of a single invasion towards the end of the last glacial period (Dias et al., 2011). Possibly can be spread by human introductions, hybridises with Mytilus edulis.
