Rather rare but locally sporadic, dredged living west of the Outer Hebrides 75m, hard bottom (D W McKay). Also from mud overlain by Phyllophora crispa, 10m, off Broadford, Skye in 1980 (Dipper, 1981d; Smith, 1983c). Living in mud and muddy gravel in 20-40m in the Firth of Lorn, Loch Creran and Loch Melfort in 1994. Dead shells rare. A number of old records from the Clyde. |
