Height: 30-80 mm

Common and locally abundant on all rocky shores except in very exposed and very sheltered areas and where polluted by tributyl tin. Also occasionally sublittoral. Preferred food appears to be barnacles, but also eats mussels and other bivalves. Many dead shells. Many old records.
