Common and locally numerous on rocky shores, especially under boulders on gravel and in the shallow sublittoral as far north as Loch Roag, Lewis, and Loch Inchard (Smith, 1985b) which is its northernmost recorded limit. Often found in current areas. Predates on a variety of organisms including bivalves and barnacles. Dead shells widespread. Many old records. |
