Figured: S M Smith
Height: 5 mm

Some records are in error for tall Odostomia turrita. This species is less widespread and less common than has been thought. Living amongst Zostera marina, small algae or on Fucus serratus in low water pools and in the shallow sublittoral in gravel. It probably prefers to be permanently submersed. Preferred food possibly terebellids but may also prey on Pomatoceros spp. and Spirorbis spp. Dead shells occasionally found. Few old records. The specimen figured in Graham (1988, Fig. 259) is not this species, but Odostomia turrita.
