Living off Oban in mud and muddy shell gravel, 30-50m, in 1994. One dead shell found on White Strip Bank in 1971 (D W McKay). Recorded by Marshall from Lochinver and Gairloch (1898a, 1914b) and by Jeffreys (1866). Also found in Loch Fyne in muddy sand and mud, 44-214m by several workers (Allen, 1962) and off Rathlin Island (Chaster, 1897b). There is no indication as to whether these shells were live or dead. The records for P. affine should possibly be included here. May be living on the Hebrides Terrace in 1982. |
