Locally common or abundant especially in sheltered waters, living on intertidal or shallow sublittoral algae and amongst shell gravel to 15m. Can be difficult to distinguish from Rissoa interrupta and may have been overlooked. There are few old records, chiefly Knight (1900) and Marshall (1989b). Feeds on adnate bacteria and detritus.
