Three specimens found living inside a plastic glove, which also contained other organisms including Kellia suborbicularis and Hiatella arctica, in 10m in Loch Inchard in 1984. These were originally recorded as Raphitoma purpurea (Smith, 1985b). Common in the northern part of the area, living amongst boulders and Laminaria digitata holdfasts low on the shore. Also in the shallow sublittoral. Dead shells sparse. Few old records, Barra (Marshall, 1912d) and the Clyde. |
