Widespread and common from low water downwards, living on hard substrates and in Laminaria holdfasts and amongst small algae. Feeds on small polychaetes. The record from deep water west of Barra is likely to be in error for one of the deep water species. Dead shells widespread. Many old records. Cenodagreutes coccigynus E A Smith, 1967 was described from off Cumbrae and has not been found since. It has now been synomymised with Cyrillia linearis. |
