One specimen found at low water amongst algae at Shieldaig Island, Gairloch in 1987. Several specimens found under boulders, mid to low water in Lough Swilly in 1986 (Nunn & Smith, 1987). These had black and white speckled bodies. Also living in Mulroy Bay (Nunn, 1996). The record from Loch Inchard (Smith, 1985b) is in error for Raphitoma leufroyi. Probably eats small polychaetes. Dead shells scarce. A few old records, mostly from the Clyde. Found by Jeffreys (1867) off the Croulin Islands. |
