Common, living amongst algae at low water and found offshore in dredge samples. Feeds on foraminiferans and small molluscs. Allen (1962), quoting old records, indicated that it could be found in sand under stones and down to 50m. Dead shells widespread. Many old records. The variety mammillata (Philippi, 1836) is referred to by several authors, including Chaster (1879c). . |
