Sporadically common, living on algae from low water to 30m. Food as for Rissoa lilacina s.s. Specimens found in the collection of Millport Marine Station museum labelled Rissoa lilacina were found to be this subspecies (not accepted by WoRMS as subspecies). Many were from the Cumbrae raised beaches.
