Common and locally numerous, living at low water on boulders in sheltered waters, often with a current, in coarse gravel in tidal rapids and in gravel inshore. Often coated with manganese and can be difficult to identify except by dissection. Probably overlooked, could be confused with Leptochiton asellus. Many old records. |
