| Common and sporadically numerous, living under boulders low on rocky shores and on silty bedrock in shallow water, usually in sheltered habitats. This species occurs in the northern part of the Irish Sea and all round Scotland, and does not extend along the north Irish coast further west than Ballycastle. |
