Much rarer than Trophonopsis barvicensis, living on sandy gravel, 30m off Lough Foyle in 1974 (D W McKay). Also found alive in the sound of Mull and the Sound of Jura. Found down to 300m and has a more southerly distribution than Trophonopsis barvicensis. Marshall (1910) recorded it from Loch Boisdale. Dead shells widespread. Few old records. |
