Figured: S M Smith
Length: 78-80 mm

Fairly common and locally numerous but subject to extensive over-collection. Living in gravel and sometimes under boulders, mid tide to low water. The northern limit of the species appears to be Lewis. Some populations seem to be naturally ephemeral. Dead shells locally abundant. Many old records. Some records may be errors of identification for large rugose Venerupis corrugata.
