| Widespread but uncommon. Recorded living in 'Mud plain..... with rocky outcrops' to 17m in Loch Inchard in 1991 (Holt, 1991c), not confirmed. Taken by scallop dredge in 53m in the North Minch in 1991. Living in shaley stones, 24-40m in the Sound of Raasay in 1988 (D W McKay), in hard mud in Loch Creran (Gage, 1972) and in soft rock at several localities in the Clyde. Range restricted by lack of suitable habitat. Dead shells sparse. Many old records from the Clyde. |
